  • Overview

    The Seminar Network is seeking a Director of Donor Communications to manage the organization’s donor communications team. This individual will guide all day-to-day activities of the donor communications team, identify and train writing talent, and write and edit content for a wide variety of donor communications, including newsletters, mailings, emails, and reports. This position will work closely with the marketing, creative, programs, and development teams, as well as non-profits supported by donors of The Seminar Network.

    As the Director of Donor Communications, a typical day might include the following:

    • Assign writing projects to appropriate team members and other writers.
    • Write content and providing edits, feedback, and guidance for team members and other writers.
    • Manage the internal review process.
    • Coordinate the team’s activities with internal and external points of contact.
    • Mentor and coach current team members to improve their writing and other relevant skills. Provide training opportunities for client staff as appropriate.
    • Develop content for a variety of formats and subject matter, all focused on a donor audience.
    • Write compelling copy that informs, motivates, and inspires donors to take desired action.
    • Generate a consistent narrative and voice for the organization.
    • Develop strategies, tactics, and cadences for engaging donors through diverse communications.
    • Interact with partner organizations and relationship managers to identify opportunities and complete projects.

    • You have the ability to adapt voice and style for different writing projects.
